Scorpio, there’s quite a shift occurring astrologically this week with Mercury entering our sign on Wednesday the 30th, and Venus, the Planet of Love, Money, and Creativity, beginning its retrograde in our sign on Saturday, October 3rd. We’ve been in the pre-shadow period of Venus Retrograde for the past two weeks, so you may already be anticipating what’s to come, but one thing I want to make clear is that it would do us no good to be afraid or prepare for the worst just because of Venus Retrograde.
Retrogrades are here to help and heal us, not harm us. It’s only when we insist on resisting the lessons we’re meant to learn that we end up in shambles. So as you enter this week that gives end to September and births October, know that the choice is yours, Scorpio. You can either rise and own up to the past catching up to you so that you can grow from what you’ve experienced, or you can allow in self-victimhood and cry “woe is me” eternally. I’d much rather do the former.
From Monday through Wednesday the Moon’s in Taurus for the final stretch of September, activating Scorpio’s partnership and marriage sector. Since these are the final days of Venus being direct in Scorpio, it’s a good time to clear the air in any one on one dynamics and speak your mind truthfully, but also with grace. If you’ve been wanting more clarity about where you stand in a relationship, friendship, or work dynamic, the Taurus Moon will allow you to ask the practical questions in a clear-minded way. Just make sure that you’re open to listening to what the other party has to say and that you’re not super intent on having everything go exactly your way. Keeping an open and flexible mind is key, and Mercury’s final days in Libra early this week will aid you in doing so.
With Mars, one of our ruling planets, beginning its six-week journey in Leo this week as well, we will have more professional momentum allowing us to be bolder when it comes to pursuing our legacy, but we may also find ourselves being more controlling, bossy, and temperamental in the search of improving our position in life… Since Leo energy squares off (creates astrological friction) with our Scorpio nature and also opposes our second planetary ruler Pluto, which is currently in Aquarius, the key is to use Mars in Leo to boost our confidence without burning bridges or getting caught up in competition with others. Mars in Leo will help us stay focused on our own lane, and if we do so we’ll be pleasantly surprised by what we achieve at work and in pursuit of our passions between now and mid-November.
The month of October begins with the Moon in Gemini, asking us to shift our focus to building sustainable wealth in a way that feels like play rather than something burdensome. It’d be wise for Scorpios to start off the month by taking a look at our spending, saving, and investing habits, particularly before Venus begins its retrograde on Saturday, so that we can have a clear idea of what’s working in our favor and what’s detrimental to our long-term security. Once Venus Retrograde begins, it’s best not to make major new investments or spend large amounts of money, but rather use this as a period of review or recalibration.
The same goes for romantic decisions. Venus Retrograde is known for bringing back unfinished business, so don’t be surprised if exes or past flings resurface, but you’d be wise to remain in observation mode rather than becoming immediately reactive… You may have less patience in your intimate connections during the retrograde and you’ll also be much less tolerant to wishy-washy behavior or confusion, but your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to let time naturally reveal what people’s true intentions are, including your own.
