Scorpio, this astro new year week begins with the Moon shifting into Pisces on the evening of March 16, and we transition from the slightly more detached vibe of the previous days Aquarius Moon into something much more emotional and intuitive. This is because we are entering the dark of the moon phase, the period right before the new moon. And during this time, it’s very common for our shadows to come up, as well as our insecurities, fears, contradictions, projections… al of it.
Instead of getting overwhelmed by the feelings that may surface at the beginning of the week, try to approach them with curiosity. Think of it almost like inviting your shadows and your demons over for tea and realizing that they have feelings too. They matter too. Pisces energy, and Scorpio energy for that matter, understands something important: we don’t always have to be happy. Sometimes we simply need solitude. Sometimes we need time to sit with our emotions without trying to fix them immediately. Scorpios already understand this better than most signs, but this dark of the Moon in Pisces might intensify that need for reflection.
Then two days later, everything shifts. On March 18th at 9:23pm EST, the New Moon in Pisces arrives at 28 degrees, officially signaling the end of eclipse season. And it’s a beautiful one. This new moon forms a harmonious sextile with Uranus in Taurus, which sits in Scorpio’s marriage and partnership sector. This means that relationships, creativity, and our relationship with our creativity are especially highlighted right now. But on a holistic level, for Scorpio placements this week’s Pisces New Moon is about planting seeds of intention for the next six months. Now that we’ve made it through eclipse season, you know what you had to release. The Aquarius Solar Eclipse on February 17th pushed you to embrace your authenticity and stop hiding the parts of yourself that make you different. Then the 3/3 Lunar Eclipse in Virgo taught you how to stop overgiving and people-pleasing. You set necessary boundaries with yourself and others, and life got so much sexier (and more mature and honest) as a result.
And now this week’s Pisces New Moon says: okay… enough shadow work… your inner child gets to have fun now. Your inner child just wants to play. Many of us have been so focused on growth and evolution lately, which makes sense. Scorpios are the sign of evolution, and this “1” year of 2026 carries strong numerological “new beginning” energy. So naturally, many of us have been trying to become the best possible version of ourselves.nMaybe you’ve cut back on habits that kept you numb. Perhaps you’ve simplified your life or you’ve been trying to optimize everything. But the danger of focusing too much on self-improvement is that we forget it’s okay to be messy sometimes. And later that same day, at 3:33pm EST, Mercury finally stations direct in Pisces, ending its retrograde. If there have been misunderstandings in your love life, moments where people felt secretive, or times where you yourself weren’t being fully transparent, things may start clearing up in the days and weeks ahead. There will still be a two-week post-shadow period, but this is still a beautiful time to clear the air, have healing conversations, forgive others, forgive yourself, and release resentment.
