Scorpio, a New Moon in Virgo will take place this weekend, but before we get to that cosmic fresh start, you may feel like there are a lot of loose ends to tie up as the month of August comes to an end, and Virgo Season begins. You may be right. But if you start off too strong, trying to get everything done at once, you’ll burn yourself out and lose motivation in the long run. Please keep in mind that Mars, your planetary ruler, is currently in Gemini for 7 months.

Mars in Gemini is a super-long transit, and it’s helping you become more of a multi-talker and an efficient communicator. But what are your priorities? What type of structure or plan have you put in place to sustainably meet your goal? With both Gemini and Virgo being ruled by Mercury, this week’s energy is very Mercury-charged. But instead of leading with your mind, let your heart tap into what’s next for you. This may at first feel counterintuitive, but the Moon’s presence in Cancer as the week begins will help you slow down enough to hear your intuition loud and clear. Not everything needs your immediate attention, but other priorities certainly do. It’s up to you to have enough discernment to know the difference.

Mid-week, the Moon enters Leo, and Uranus, the Planet of Surprise, begins its five-month retrograde in the sign of Taurus. This is our opposite sign of the zodiac, meaning our sector of partnership and marriage is activated by Uranus’ lengthy retrograde there. The Moon in Leo and Uranus in Taurus will square off with each other on Thursday, which means that your ego or pride may get bruised around this time, particularly when it comes to a career-related matter, and/or something in a personal relationship. Instead of being immediately reactive or defensive, you’re being invited to ask yourself and the associated parties more questions about whatever triggers or drama may come up. Chances are, thoughtful communication, and greater flexibility and compromise, can help tame whatever frustrations or misunderstandings emerge. Uranus’ retrograde in your marriage sector will have you re-evaluating your values and needs as a lover and partner, and even if it may feel extra vulnerable to open up to others about what you’re feeling or experiencing, the only way to flow through this transit is to do so.

This weekend, the Moon’s in Virgo, and the New Moon occurs at 11:17pm EST on Saturday the 27th. What a healing way to near the end of August. This New Moon feels like a cosmic breath of fresh air, and your sensitivity to life, to your friends, to what’s going on digitally, and to what’s happening in your community is increasing tremendously. Some Scorpios may decide to join a new network of people with like-minded interests, or to subscribe to a course that helps them shift their consciousness for the better. Even if it doesn’t happen immediately, it’s likely to occur sometime within the six months after the New Moon occurred.

This is one of the most spiritually fortifying New Moons of the year. If you have been caught up in unhealthy habits, and you know it’s time to make a change, this is the time to set intentions that help you make that change, and commit to it. You can and will do this, Scorpio.
