Welcome Virgo season! This week, the Sun enters Virgo early on the 23rd, and shines a light on the people that you’re aligning with on a core level. Life’s already too complicated for you to continue to hang out with people that dim your light. You love yourself too much to keep wasting your energy on the connections that don’t offer you space to express your truth. Instead, celebrating the people who consistently see, support, and amplify you. Mercury also beings its retrograde in Virgo on the same day, the 23rd, inviting you to reconsider the goals and expectations you hold yourself to, and to observe the ways in which you compare yourself to your communities.
With Venus and Mercury both being retrograde at the same time this week, you should also make sure you’re not projecting your insecurities or shadows on others either. Sometimes what you think is an external issue may be more of a personal one that hits quite close to home. To better discern between both perspectives, you’d benefit from spending plenty of time on your own, near nature, calmly reflecting on the lessons you’ve learned so far this summer. The Scorpio Moon on Tuesday and Wednesday highlights your sensitivities and may lead to you indulging in a very necessary and therapeutic crying sesh that allows you to release the dead weight and step into a lighter state of mind.
On the 27th, Mars shifts from Virgo to Libra, entering the deepest area of your chart. You may feel tired as the month of August nears its end. Prioritize rest. Real, deep rest, not the kind where you give yourself space but are tormenting yourself about it and thinking about all the things you have to get done. Retreating for a couple of weeks can help you get the pause you need in order to carefully work out your game plan. This won’t be easy. But try and cultivate the patience needed in order to conserve your energy and keep your plans and actions to yourself for now. You have so much that’s brewing beneath the surface, like a seed that’s been planted deep in dark soil. Let your fertilization period take as long as it needs to.
Romantically, keep in mind that we’re nearing the start of Uranus’ five-month retrograde in Taurus. It’ll officially begin on the 28th of August. Since Taurus is our opposite sign of the zodiac, it highlights our sector of marriage and partnership. The pre-shadow effects of this retrograde may lead to you assessing the status of your current connections, be they romantic, platonic, or creative. Are you honoring your needs, no matter how unconventional they may seem, especially when it comes to your one-on-one relationships? Pay attention to moments when you’ve been the one accommodating other people’s needs more than your own. If there’s anything you’ve been wanting to get off your chest regarding your values or desires in committed partnerships, this weekend may be the ideal time to do so.
