Scorpio, we may have made it to January 2023, but in astrology, the astro new year doesn’t begin until around March 21 of each year, when the equinox strikes and Aries Season begins. So we’re technically still in the midst of the March 2022 – March 2023 astrological year, and we don’t have to put pressure on ourselves this month to be on a “new year, new me” type of vibe. This is especially the case since our planetary ruler Mars is still retrograde in Gemini until the 12th of January, and Mercury, the Planet of Communication, remains retrograde in Capricorn until the 18th of January.
Since Mars is the Planet of Action, and Gemini energy activates our sector of depth and intimacy, much of the start of January will have us reflecting on the soul ties we create, not only romantically, but also financially and spiritually. Perhaps we took on a bit too much energetically ever since Mars entered Gemini in August 2022, and especially since Mars Retrograde began on October 30, 2022. As the year begins, it’s best to take stock of your current relationships, as well as your financial investments, and start to discern between what’s actually worthy of your energy, and what must be released to make room for something new in 2023.
Mercury’s retrograde is activating our sector of communication, so we may not be in the most talkative mood for the first three weeks of the year. It’ll actually be prime time to be in hibernation mode, so that once Aquarius season begins and the retrogrades end, we can emerge like a rising bear.
