Scorpio, welcome to August 2026. I know July was a whirlwind, mainly because Mercury Retrograde in Cancer was dragging us through reflections, delays, second guesses, old dreams, revised plans, and all the questions we may have preferred to answer later. But it was all happening for good reason. Mercury Retrograde wanted us to see how much we actually believed in the dreams we kept talking about. It’s one thing to say that we want our lives to expand, that we have these big goals, that we’re ready to travel, build, create, teach, publish, launch, or take a leap of faith, and it’s another thing to create an actual plan that could bring those dreams to life.
Luckily for us, August is the month where those dreams can start becoming real, step by step, courageous breath by courageous breath. We are moving out of the mental fog and into a month that carries much more momentum, although the momentum will ask us to be emotionally honest first. Before we can fully step into the professional rebirth that August has in store, we have to face some of the wounds and past pain we still carry around love, trust, partnership, and what it means to let another person truly know us.
Chiron, the asteroid connected to our wounds and healing, begins its retrograde in Taurus on August 3rd, activating our marriage, partnership, and one-on-one relationship sector. This is going to bring up a lot for us over the next few months, because too often Scorpios carry the wound of feeling like we have to do everything alone. We can crave deep love, loyalty, devotion, and a best-friend type of partnership while still carrying the fear that if we fully surrender to it, someone will eventually disappoint us, deceive us, abandon us, or use what we shared against us.
Mars, our traditional planetary ruler, enters Cancer on August 11th, and this is soothing, motivating shift for our Scorpio nature. Mars in Cancer isn’t always the most comfortable placement because emotions can run high, but Cancer harmonizes with our Water-sign energy and activates our realm of expansion, higher journeys, travel, entrepreneurship, spirituality, publishing, and long-term vision. Mercury will have entered Leo two days earlier, so the energy around us is no longer asking us to keep revising the same plan forever. We can finally start moving.
The highlight of the month arrives on August 12th, when the New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Leo strikes our career, reputation, purpose, and legacy sector for the first time since 2017. This is one of the most important professional turning points we have experienced in years, and many of us may find ourselves thinking back to where we were during the summer of 2017…
